Twitter’s Follower Limit – Good or Bad?

Is There a Need to Follow Over 1,000 People in a Day?

Twitter has had a limit on how many people a user can follow in a day (1,000) in place for some time, and on Monday the company said this limit was not being consistently applied to all accounts, but that it would be from here on out.

In  a post on the Twitter Status Blog, the company says there are technical reasons behind the limit, but that it is mainly to discourage spam. Understandable given an increased amount of complaining about spam and a recent wave of worms spreading across Twitter

“Also, it is unlikely that anyone can actually read tweets from thousands of accounts which makes the mass following activity disingenuous,” says Twitter. “We understand that there may be exceptions where mass following is needed in excess of the daily limit: for example, some API applications or for the ability to exchange direct messages. There are also some who think it’s simply polite to follow back other accounts.”

Twitter encourages users who feel that they fit the bill of such exceptions to leave feedback with  @twitter so they can address their needs.

Commentary around the blogosphere regarding Twitter’s follower limit ranges from one side of the spectrum to the other. “It seems Twitter would prefer that these celebrity accounts only follow, say… 93 as Ashton does, rather than the nearly 400,000 Britney Spears follows, which I would guess would be even higher if it weren’t for Twitter’s API troubles,”  says blogger Louis Gray.

“It’s likely Twitter is issuing this newest limit to try and stop spammers and go after the worms that have recently impacted the system,” he adds. “But the ecosystem that has helped the service grow to such high visibility is getting impacted.

Andy Merrett  talking about the subjectat Performancing says, “Now, I have recently subscribed to the viewpoint that it is good to reciprocate follows – however I do so manually. Granted, I only get a handful of new followers each day at present so it’s no great problem, but it does mean I have a better chance at weeding out spammers from the outset.”

“I just can’t get my head around the concept that anyone getting over one thousand follows per day can possibly keep up following them all back,” Andy adds.

Would you ever have a need to follow a thousand Twitterers in a day? What do you think about Twitter’s limit?

Chris Crum has been a part of the WebProNews team and the iEntry Network of B2B Publications since 2003.

Houston Rockets Win

Today,I am very pleased to see that Houston Rockets win in the first round of the playoffs. They haven’t won a playoff series since 1995.In the past several years ,they always be disqualified in the first round of playoffs.

Is this year that T-mac finally gets out of the first round? It is the most common question they have ever been asked at the beginning of regular season. But at the regular season,T-mac missed most of the games because of injuries.Ironically,Houston Rockets win the first round of playoffs without T-mac.T-mac is a good player ,but he has too much injuries.
With out T-mac,but Houston Rockets still have Ron Artest,YaoMing,Shane Battier,Lucis Scola,Brooks and so on.They help the Houston Rockets win!In the last match,Ron Artest do his best .Much of the credit for the victory goes to him.Shane Battier,Lucis Scola,Brooks ,they are not superstar, but when they play together ,they are strong.
Yao Ming,is also a great player.I like Houston Rockets because of that he is there. He is a Chinese,Me too.In the past several seasons,he didn’t won in the first round of playoffs. As a Chinese people ,he is success.I believe that he will be very pleased .
They will play with LA lakers in the second round.I think Houston Rockets couldn’t beat them. But I will pray for them.

How to Prevent Swine Flu (Swine Influenza)

We are in danger. The Swine Flu are spreading.Swine Flu is founded in Mexico, but it is rapidly spreading all over the world. If we can’t prevent it well ,more and more will died.As an averageperson, what we should do now?I find an article ,it will teach you how to prevent Swine Flu and what you should do when you get the swine flu.

1

In this first step I would like you to learn what Swine Influenza is so that you can be educated about it and know what it is. Swine flu is a respiratory disease most commonly found in pigs. In the past not many humans have ever had swine flu. However it is possible for a human to get infected. This new strand of Swine Flu is scaring people in the Southern states and Mexico because this new strand could become an epidemic outbreak. Please be aware that Swine Flu is contagious and can be spread from human to human easily.

Step2

I would like you to know that there have been outbreaks of the Swine flu in the United States. I would like to let you know about this website that lets you track the latest outbreaks in the United States, the website is: http://www.cdc.gov/swineflu/investigation.htm. As of today (April 27, 2009) New York has the most outbreaks of the Swine Flu with the number of people infected up to 28 known. The next most outbreaks in a state right now is California with 7 Cases. Kansas and Texas both have 2 cases and Ohio as of now is known to have one case as well. If you go to the above website that I provided in this step, you will see a chart on their web page that will give you daily updated numbers as well as more helpful information.

Step3

In this step I will include the steps of how to keep from getting the Swine Flu. These steps can be found at the CDC website as well. Please follow these steps to keep your family safe: 1. If you cough or sneeze please cover your mouth and nose with a tissue, and then dispose of the tissue after you have used it. 2. Wash your hands anytime you sneeze or cough thoroughly, CDC also says that you may use the alcohol type hand cleaners, they are also effective. 3. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth, this will help prevent the spread of germs. 4. Try to stay away from people who are sneezing or coughing. There is a good chance that they could be infected with the swine flu. and finally 5. If you get sick, CDC would like for you to stay at home in bed, do not risk going to school or work because this epidemic could be disastrous if it spreads. Also if you touch something that other people commonly touch like door knobs etc. Wash your hands as soon as possible afterwards… You may have seen on the TV news that many people in Mexico are wearing dust masks, this is actually a really good idea to help stop the spread, Goggles may be another way of protecting yourself from getting sick. Germs mostly enter your body through the mouth, nose, and eyes.

Step4

Now I would like for you to know of the signs and symptoms of having the Swine Influenza, and these are: Coughing, Sneezing, Fever, Sore Throat, Headaches, Chills, Fatigue, and Body aches. The Swine flu is much like the regular flu as far as symptoms go.

Step5

Is Swine Flu dangerous? Yes, swine flu has been known to cause deaths with people that have or have had chronic medical conditions. Swine flu can also potentially make respiratory failure and pneumonia get worse. One of the bad things about this infection, is that you can infect someone 1 day before the symptoms show up, and up to 7 days after your symptoms are gone, so please continue washing your hands even if you do not have the symptoms of Swine Flu.

Step6

IMPORTANT STEP::::
If your children show one of the following symptoms, seek medical assistance as soon as possible: Fast breathing, trouble breathing, bluish skin color, dehydration or not drinking enough fluids, not waking up, not interacting or dazed, if your child is irratable and doesn’t want to be held, Flu symptoms go away or improve but fever or coughing comes back worse, or if your child suffers from a rash with a fever… Again if your child suffers any of the above symptoms, do not hesitate get them medical assistance as soon as possible!

Step7

IMPORTANT STEP::::
This step is for the adults, if you or any other adult in your family have one or more of the following symptoms seek medical assistance as soon as possible: Difficulty Breathing, Shortness of Breath, Pain in Chest or abdomen, Pressure in Chest or abdomen, Sudden Dizziness, Confusion, Severe Vomiting, or Persistent Vomiting. Again if you have any of the above symptoms please seek medical attention as soon as possible!

Step8

I hope this article was able to inform and educate you about the Swine Flu, Please be careful and take care! Please visit the CDC website for more information. Keep you doctor in mind if any of these symptoms arise.

The article is come from http://www.ehow.com/how_4936941_swine-flu-swine-influenza-symptoms.html

Some free blog is not good for SEO.So you will not get good rankings in search engines and few visitors will visit your blog. Some advertisers will not choose a blogger who use free blog write review for them,so you can’t make a lot money with blog.
It is not expensive for buying webhosting and domain name. You can do it for only dozens dollars.Like domain name ,like Yahoo Domain, only $1.99 for the first year. After buying webhosting, upload Wordpress to your webhosting, choose a template ,and you can blogging immediately.
